With offices in both Oklahoma City and Durant, John E. Barbush is an experienced trial attorney with a state-wide practice, who handles all types of personal injury cases, including nursing home negligence, medical malpractice, and automobile and truck accidents. In addition to fighting for plaintiffs in personal injury cases, John also prides himself in representing other attorneys, defending legal malpractice cases. John also represents clients in general litigation, securities litigation, and family law.

Throughout his career, John has represented individuals, businesses, and attorneys, as both plaintiffs and defendants. He is committed to seeking justice and has a thorough and responsive approach to representation. John also has experience with jury trials, including representation against one of the world’s largest law firms.

John received his juris doctorate from Oklahoma City University and his B.S. in Business Administration from Ambassador University. While in law school, John was the recipient of the Corpus Juris Secundum award in Torts, the CALI Trial Practice award, the CALI Workers’ Compensation Award and CALI Future Excellence Award.

John is admitted to practice in all Oklahoma Courts, the Western and Northern Districts of Oklahoma and the Tenth Circuit. He is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, as well as the Oklahoma County, Bryan County, and Choctaw Nation Bar Associations.

In 2023, John was appointed to serve on the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Board of Governors (
Jan. 2023 Oklahoma Bar Journal, pg 42-43, 71), representing Supreme Court Judicial District Two, which consists of Atoka, Bryan, Choctaw, Haskell, Johnston, Latimer, LeFlore, Marshall, McCurtain, McIntosh, Pittsburg, Pushmataha, and Sequoyah counties.

Previously, John served as a member of the Executive Committee for the Family Law Section of the Oklahoma County Bar Association, was a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association Leadership Academy (2017 - 2018 class), and served as a Volunteer Attorney for Oklahoma Lawyers for Children. In addition, John has been a featured speaker for the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Oklahoma Association for Medical Transcription and for the Oklahoma County Bar Association Family Law Section.
